Privacy Policy

Last updated: February 24, 2026

1. Introduction

Parlivo ("we", "our", "us") operates the Parlivo platform at parlivo.app. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data when you use our service.

Parlivo uses YouTube API Services to access publicly available YouTube data. By using Parlivo, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy, as well as Google's Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our service.

2. Data We Collect

2.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Profile picture (if you sign in via Google OAuth)
  • Hashed password (if you use email/password authentication)

2.2 YouTube Data (via YouTube API Services)

When you connect a YouTube channel, we access the following publicly available data through YouTube API Services (YouTube Data API v3):

Data we access and store:

  • Channel metadata: channel name, description, subscriber count, profile image URL, custom URL
  • Video metadata: video titles, descriptions, publish dates, view counts, like counts, comment counts, thumbnail URLs, video duration
  • Public comments: comment text, author display name, author profile image URL, author channel URL, like count, publish date, and reply relationships (parent/child)

How this data is processed:

  • Public comment text is sent to Google Gemini for AI analysis, including sentiment classification and theme extraction
  • Channel and video metadata is displayed to the channel owner within their Parlivo dashboard
  • Author display names and profile images from comments are displayed alongside AI-generated analysis results

We do not access your private YouTube account, YouTube Analytics, revenue data, private or unlisted videos, or any data from channels you do not explicitly connect. We access only publicly available data.

2.3 Usage Data

We automatically collect:

  • Pages visited and features used
  • Analysis usage counts (for billing purposes)
  • IP address (for rate limiting only, not stored long-term)
  • Browser type and device information

2.4 Payment Data

Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number, CVC, or full card details. We only receive from Stripe: your subscription status, plan type, and billing period dates.

3. How We Use Your Data

3.1 Internal Use

  • AI analysis: public comment text is processed by AI to extract sentiment analysis, recurring themes, content strengths, improvement suggestions, content ideas, and audience persona classification
  • Display: channel metadata, video metadata, and comment data are displayed to the channel owner within their private dashboard
  • Billing: usage counts are tracked to enforce plan limits and process payments via Stripe
  • Communication: transactional emails (verification, password reset) are sent via Resend
  • Security: IP addresses are used for rate limiting, fraud prevention, and abuse detection

3.2 External Sharing

  • Google Gemini: public comment text is sent to Google Gemini for AI analysis (sentiment, themes, insights). Google processes this data according to their API terms and does not use it for model training.
  • Stripe: billing information is shared with Stripe for payment processing.

We do not sell, rent, or share your data or YouTube API Data with any other third parties. We do not use your data for advertising purposes.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services that may process your data:

  • Google Gemini — AI analysis of comment text
  • Stripe — payment processing
  • Neon — PostgreSQL database hosting (EU region)
  • Resend — transactional emails

Each service operates under its own privacy policy. We recommend reviewing their policies for details on how they handle data.

5. YouTube API Services & Google Disclosure

Parlivo uses YouTube API Services to access publicly available YouTube data. By using Parlivo, you acknowledge and agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service.

Please refer to Google's Privacy Policy for information about how Google handles your data.

Parlivo's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

You can revoke Parlivo's access to your Google data at any time via Google Security Settings.

6. Cookies and Device Storage

Parlivo stores, accesses, and collects information directly on users' devices through cookies and similar technologies, including:

  • Locale preference cookie (functional) — a cookie placed on your browser to remember your language choice across sessions.
  • Theme preference (functional) — information stored in your browser's localStorage to remember your light/dark mode choice.

We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, third-party analytics cookies, or any other technology that tracks users across websites. No third parties place, access, or recognize cookies or similar technology on users' devices through Parlivo.

7. Data Storage and Security

  • Your data is stored on servers located in the European Union (Neon PostgreSQL, eu-central-1)
  • All data is encrypted in transit (TLS/HTTPS) and at rest
  • Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms
  • Authentication sessions use secure, HTTP-only cookies
  • We implement rate limiting to prevent abuse
  • Access to production data is restricted to authorized personnel only

8. Data Retention

  • Account data: retained as long as your account is active
  • YouTube data: retained as long as the channel is connected. Removed when you disconnect the channel or delete your account
  • Analysis results: retained as long as the associated video exists in your account
  • IP addresses: used transiently for rate limiting, not stored permanently
  • Authorization tokens: stored only as long as necessary and used exclusively for purposes consistent with the consent granted by the active user

When you delete your account, all associated data (channels, videos, analyses) is permanently deleted within 30 days.
